12 noon: 'Power of the Community', about how Cuba survived peak oil. It shows wide scale yet community based gardening solutions and also gives a good intro to the concept of peak oil.
1pm: 'Ancient Futures: Learning from Ladakh' This shows the problems of capitalism by giving an in depth exploration how the people of Ladakh are living totally sustainably and yet this future proof way of life is fairly quickly being eroded in a speeded up version of industrialisation. It is at the same time beautiful, inspiring and very tragic.
2pm: 'A Convenient Truth: Urban Solutions From Curitiba Brazil' This shows what a council achieved in this city by pushing through large scale environmentally based solutions to urban problems.
3pm: 'Hawai'i: Message in the waves' This is a documentary about how Hawai'i can be seen a microcosm of the world and what happens when you get out of step with nature. It particularly highlights the problems of plastic pollution and is a great film to catalyse going plastic bag free.
