Damn Cheek is an innovative theatre company with an emphasis on new writing, on community projects and on performance in non traditional venues. During lockdown we have switched our energies into a string of on line ventures – shows by Maria, by Brendan Murray, Kelvin Segger and Tony Earnshaw (who wrote the two previous shows we brought to Saltaire).
We have also been working hard on the planning stage for a large community project in Gateshead next Easter, a mystery play based on the York and Wakefield cycles. Our on line shows have been very well supported by an ever increasing online community and the discussion session which follows each one has been vibrant and lively.
Our July play, Diary of a Madman, was part of Buxton Fringe. Fringe Guru called it a highlight of the Fringe and a great review from the Fringe’s own website commented approvingly that this was ‘far from the all-too-frequent static Zoom’.
We look forward to welcoming you to “One last look” on Wednesday 16th September 2020, doors open at 8pm
