Ry Gibson Moss’ creative work is inspired by their observation of community, connection and infection throughout the pandemic.

They noticed a similarity between this and the way fungi share information, knowledge and diseases through mycelium and mycorrhizal networks across the forest floor, linking plant and tree roots into a network of interconnectedness.

Made with yarns from the Bradford district, Ry weaves a web of threads that bind communities visually mirrored by the fungi, mycelium and mycorrhizal networks.

Ry, who lives with severe complications arising from Long Covid, will be exhibiting a range of their art including complete pieces, work in progress and sketch books in the back garden at 1 Salts Mews. Ry’s friend Kt Shepherd is hosting the event, Kt’s garden is accessible to people who use wheelchairs or mobility scooters. There is also bench seating available.

Ry’s exhibition is a Covid Safer space. This means that we ask you not to visit if you have any symptoms of a cold or any other cold/cough type or infectious virus. If you wish to view any of Ry’s indoors work (through wide open patio doors into the kitchen) you will need to wear an FFP3 face mask, which we will provide. In addition, there will be a large scale HEPA air filter operating in the kitchen.
