Are there any road closures during the Festival?
Yes. A few roads will be closed to help us run the Festival safely:
Caroline Street – closed between Maddock Street and Victoria Road on 19 and 20 September.
Victoria Road – closed outside Shipley College / Victoria Hall on 19 and 20 September.
Exhibition Road and car park – closed from 19:00 on 18 September until 21:00 on 20 September.
Please note: these road and car park closures will also affect Car Club vehicles on Victoria Road and Exhibition Road.
In addition to the Festival closures, part of Saltaire Road is currently closed while Yorkshire Water carries out repairs to a burst water main. The closure remains in place while repair work continues.
These closures are likely to cause additional congestion in and around Saltaire, so please allow extra time for your journey and consider using public transport where possible.
What’s the best way to travel to Saltaire?
Saltaire is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a historic layout and limited parking. During Festival weekend the village gets especially busy, so walking, cycling, train or bus are the easiest ways to join us.
Saltaire is well connected by public transport and the railway station is right in the heart of the village.
Plan your bus and train journey with WY Metro. An MCard also offers flexible bus and train travel across West Yorkshire.
If you do need to drive, please park considerately and avoid parking in the village where possible.
A friendly reminder from us: Saltaire is also home to many residents and families, so please park considerately and help us keep access clear throughout the Festival.
Higher Coach Road is a residential street, not a Festival car park. Please do not use it for Festival parking as residents need clear and safe access to their homes.
We want everyone to enjoy the Festival while allowing everyday life in the village to carry on too.
Thank you for helping us be good neighbours.
Where can I park?
Parking in Saltaire is limited and it gets very busy during the Festival, so public transport is your best bet if you can use it.
If you are driving, check the road closures above and park considerately. Please don’t block driveways, entrances or access for residents and emergency vehicles.
Consider parking a little further out in Shipley or Baildon and walking into Saltaire. Baildon Recreation Ground will be open for parking and is within walking distance.
You can find information about local car parks on the Bradford Council – Car Parks in Saltaire page.
Please note that Exhibition Road and Caroline Street car parks will be closed from 19:00 on 18 September until 21:00 on 20 September.
I’m disabled, where can I park?
Disabled parking will be available in the usual designated spaces around the village. There will also be reserved disabled parking next to The Lodge, near Roberts Park and outside the school on Higher Coach Road. Spaces are limited, so we recommend arriving early.
Where can I find the Festival programme?
We’ve gone digital. For event times, activities, venues and programme updates, visit the Saltaire Festival 2026.
Keep an eye on our social media channels too (Facebook, Instagram, X) for Festival news and updates.
Do I need a ticket?
The festival is free to attend, no ticket is needed- just come along and enjoy! There’s plenty of free live music, entertainment and Festival fun. Some individual events may be ticketed and activities such as the fairground, face painting and other attractions may have a charge. Food and drink are also available to buy.
Check the programme Saltaire Festival 2026 for details of individual events.
Can I bring my dog?
If you bring your four-legged friend, please keep them under control and give other visitors plenty of space. Some people may be nervous around dogs or have allergies.
Help us keep the Festival enjoyable for everyone – two-legged and four-legged!
What happens if my child gets lost?
Pop by one of our information points when you arrive and pick up a free children’s wristband. Add your contact details and we’ll be able to reach you quickly if your child gets separated from you.
Wristbands are available near The Lodge (building next to the playground & information point) in Roberts Park and on Victoria Road by Saltaire United Reformed Church.
If a child does become separated from their parent or guardian, they’ll be taken to The Lodge, where a DBS-checked adult will look after them while we contact you.
What if I lose something?
Lost your keys, glasses, favourite jumper – or something else?
Head to The Lodge at the entrance to Roberts Park and ask our team. Lost property handed in during the Festival will be kept there. After the Festival, you can email coordinator@saltairefestival.co.uk. Any items still unclaimed after the Festival will be donated to charity.
Will you be taking photos and videos?
Our Festival volunteers will be out and about taking photos and videos to capture the atmosphere and special moments. They’ll be easy to spot in their Festival hi-vis vests. You may appear in some of the photos or footage we share afterwards.

How can I support Saltaire Festival?
Saltaire Festival is a registered charity run with the help of unpaid volunteers. We receive no guaranteed funding and work hard to keep as much of the Festival free as possible.
Putting on the Festival safely costs around £60,000, raised through grants, sponsorship, advertising and donations.
If everyone who enjoyed the Festival gave just £1, it would make a huge difference.
Look out for our collection buckets during the Festival, or donate online anytime through Givey-Saltaire Festival.
Every pound helps us keep Saltaire Festival going. Thank you!
