Saltaire story telling weekend

Richard O’Neill is a multi-award winning, Master Storyteller and internationally acclaimed children’s Author. Raised in a large traditional family of storytellers in the North he believes that storytelling is for everyone and should be fun!

A skilled woodcarver he makes a range of toys that accompany many of the stories including the popular ‘Tree Buddies’ ‘Little Geordie’ and ‘Jenny Buttons.’ He loves to teach storytelling skills to adults and children.

Richard will be telling stories to both children and adults during the festival

He will be reading stories for children on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September 2020. On Saturday children will meet his puppet Little Geordie. On Sunday you can enjoy a “bedtime” story, when Richard reads one of his award winning books.

On Thursday 17th, Friday 18th and Saturday 20th September 2020 he will be helping adults to “tell their own story” with his series of 3 videos, “Three steps to being a better storyteller”

Step one: Discover what engaging storytelling is and how it works

Step two: How to start your story  make your story interesting

Step three: How keep your story interesting and how to successfully bring it to an end.
